The short answer

The India burger board has the Maharaja Mac; this page has everything around it, and the surprises are bigger: McDonald’s India sells bone-in fried chicken by the piece and the bucket, a baked pizza pocket (the ₹69, ~$0.73 Pizza McPuff) found almost nowhere else on the planet, piri piri shaker fries, fully eggless desserts, and a McCafé bar with flat whites for less than half of what India’s café chains charge. During Shravan, the fasting month, the fries come unsalted on request. Prices are delivery-menu prices; in-store runs lower.

Checked against McDonald’s India’s McDelivery menu; images © McDonald’s India. Veg marks follow India’s statutory system: 🟢 vegetarian, 🔺 non-veg. Prices are from the north-and-east delivery menu and include a markup — the burger page explains the two-franchise setup.

Fried chicken and wings

The section that shocks visitors most: McDonald’s competing with KFC head-on, with actual bone-in chicken. It began in the south, where the fried-chicken market is fiercest, and now runs nationally with buckets up to ten pieces.

McCafé and drinks

McCafé runs inside most Indian McDonald’s as a genuine espresso counter — cappuccinos, flat whites, a ₹125 (~$1.31) espresso shot — priced well under the café chains it competes with. The one gap worth noting: no masala chai, in the country that invented drinking more of it than anyone.

Hot Teas Hot Teas 🟢 ₹169-192 (~$1.78-$2.02) English breakfast and Moroccan mint green. Still no masala chai.

Fountain sodas run ₹105 (~$1.10) for Coke, Fanta and Sprite; a Coke Zero can is ₹67 (~$0.70).

The Shravan menu

Every year during Shravan — the Hindu holy month, roughly August, when many observers give up meat, onion, garlic or salt — the menu responds: unsalted fries paired with shakes as dedicated combos, and the NONG (no onion, no garlic) tikki burgers get their moment. A global fast-food chain reformulating its fries for a religious calendar happens exactly one place in the world, and this is it.

FAQ

Does McDonald’s India sell fried chicken?

Yes — bone-in crispy fried chicken by the piece (₹109, ~$1.15) and in buckets up to ten pieces, plus McSpicy wings. It’s the only major market where McDonald’s fights KFC with KFC’s own product.

What is the Pizza McPuff?

A baked, crisp-shelled pocket of pizza-style sauce, vegetables and cheese for ₹69 (~$0.73), on the Indian menu since the 1990s. It’s the country’s counterpart to the taro pie in China or the shaka shaka chicken in Japan: the cheap side everyone grew up on.

Is McDonald’s India’s ice cream vegetarian?

Yes, the soft serve is eggless and the dessert case carries the green vegetarian dot throughout — McFlurries, cups, cones, muffins and cookies included.

What coffee does McCafé India serve?

A full espresso menu: cappuccino (₹175-209, ~$1.84-$2.20), latte, flat white, americano, mocha, a ₹125 (~$1.31) espresso shot, plus frappés, shakes and smoothies. No masala chai, which remains the menu’s strangest omission.
