• The 2025 baseline: the Party Barrel at ¥5,490 (~$36) (¥4,990, ~$32 early-bird) in two versions — Original (8 pieces of chicken plus a chicken gratin and a strawberry-vanilla mousse cake) and Variety (4 pieces plus tenders and biscuits, same sides). Premium whole roast legs and six smaller Christmas Packs (¥2,790-4,990, ~$18-$32) rounded out the lineup.
• Pickup runs December 19-25, with your chosen slot at reservation. KFC nudges demand off the peak: off-peak slots (before the 24th, or early/late on the 24th-25th) earned bonus coupons in 2025.
• Walk-ins: possible on the day at some stores, with queues that make the evening news. If you’re in Japan without a reservation, December 19-22 pickup beats fighting the 24th.

KFC Japan beyond Christmas

The rest of the year runs its own exclusives, currently in Tsukimi mode like the rest of Japan’s chains: five moon-viewing items through the season, including a triple-katsu burger at ¥990 (~$6.45), plus a rotating cast like September’s Crazy Dip Chicken and garlic soy-sauce chicken. Biscuits with honey-maple remain the permanent order the US would recognize; the chicken recipe itself skews juicier and less salty than American KFC, a consistent visitor observation.
